To our Brian Head Resort Family:

A letter from our General Manager

All of us here at Brian Head Resort would like to extend our sincere wishes that you and your family are staying safe and healthy during these difficult times. We also want to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the healthcare professionals, first responders, and countless others who have been working tirelessly to help keep us all healthy and safe during this unfortunate pandemic.

Even though we were forced to close a bit early this past winter season, we were still fortunate enough to enjoy 117 days of fantastic skiing and snowboarding on the Greatest Snow on Earth. We want to thank all of our valued guests and employees for their continued support this past winter, and we are eagerly looking forward to a responsible return to normalcy amidst this ever-changing landscape.

We also wanted to take this opportunity to provide you with a quick update on what has been happening at Brian Head Resort.

•Although all of our seasonal winter employees have ended their employment, thanks to the assistance from our local banking partner, we have now received funding through the CARES Act Paycheck Protection Program. This funding has allowed us to continue to employ all of our year-round staff to perform ski lift and equipment maintenance, as well as other essential duties necessary to prepare for the anticipated summer season and the upcoming 2020/2021 winter ski season.

•We are very excited to say that we are nearing completion of the previously announced transaction to join the family of Mountain Capital Partners (MCP) and their largest collective of ski resorts in the Southwest. These seven resorts include Purgatory Resort, Arizona Snowbowl, Sipapu Ski & Summer Resort, Nordic Valley Ski Resort, Pajarito Mountain, Hesperus Ski Area, and Colorado’s largest snowcat skiing operation, Purgatory Snowcat Adventures. MCP also operates Spider Mountain Bike Park in Texas, the only year-round, lift-served mountain bike park in North America. In total, these resorts offer more than 3,725 acres of terrain, 301 trails, 39 lifts, 20 terrain parks, and over 35,000 acres of backcountry snowcat skiing. MCP is passionate about the ski industry, shares our core values that employees and guests are family and not just numbers, and have improved the skier experience at all of their resorts.

•We will soon be launching our 2020/2021 season pass sale, including exciting new products and values now available to us by joining MCP collective.  As part of our ongoing commitment to our local community, we will be donating 1% from our first pass sale to selected local small businesses most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We remain optimistic that conditions surrounding the pandemic will continue to subside, and that we will once again be able to safely enjoy with family and friends all of the spectacular beauty and wonderful activities that Southern Utah has to offer. We are staying optimistic and are moving forward with our plans for another summer of fun-filled activities including mountain biking, hiking, and all of our other fun, base area activities. We will continue to update our website and social media outlets with our latest summer schedule and other news and information.

Once again, we hope that you and your family are staying safe and healthy, and we appreciate your patronage during the 2019/2020 winter season. We are confident that there are better days ahead, and I look forward to having you join us again soon at Brian Head Resort.

Sincerely,

Burke Wilkerson
